SSL Installation

MaxAPEX offers two types of SSL services: single SSL domain and multi-domain SSL.

  1. Single SSL Domain:
    • With a single SSL domain, SSL can be installed on only one domain hosted on your server.
    • If you have purchased a single SSL domain, SSL can be installed for only that specific domain.
    • Example: If your domain is example.com, SSL can be installed only for example.com. For subdomains like test.example.com, you should purchase multi-domain SSL.
  2. Multi-Domain SSL:
    • Multi-domain SSL allows SSL installation on multiple domains hosted on your server.
    • If you have purchased multi-domain SSL, you can install SSL on more than one domain on the same server.

Before Installing SSL:

  • Ensure that the domain you want to install SSL on is pointing to your server.
  • For the main domain, create an A record with the following details:
    • Type = A record
    • Host = @
    • Value = Server's IP
    • TTL = Automatic
  • For subdomains, create a CNAME record with the following details:
    • Type = CNAME
    • Host = www (or your subdomain)
    • Value = xyz.maxapex.net
    • TTL = Automatic

Instructions for Different Scenarios:

  1. Shared or Dedicated Server Client with MaxAPEX Domain:
    • Open a ticket, and our team will point your domain to the server and install SSL on it.
  2. Dedicated Server Client without MaxAPEX Domain:
    • Go to your DNS registrar control panel and create an ANAME or CRECORD for your main or subdomain as described above.
  3. Shared Server Client without MaxAPEX Domain (Main Domain SSL Installation):
    • Go to your DNS registrar control panel and update your main domain's nameservers to ns1.maxapex.net, ns2.maxapex.net, and ns3.maxapex.net.
    • After updating nameservers, open a ticket, and our team will install SSL on your main domain.

By following these steps, you can efficiently set up SSL for your domains hosted with MaxAPEX, ensuring secure connections for your website visitors. If you encounter any issues or need assistance, feel free to reach out to our support team for further guidance.
